OF CLYTIE FOR APOLLO
by Rita of Cascia Amorim Andrade
Oh god of the sun!
broken my body
crushed my soul
planted my feet on the ground
and gave me no water.
Forgotten, however,
to make me flower,
fed me with your rays.
I’ve been one days
Nymph of the Waters,
beautiful, transparent, naked.
Resurgent my habitat
to love you.
I’ve been one days
pink meat woman
fresh mouth
carmine painted.
Poor eyes for you
prostrated
thy dagger
wishes bled.
See you spend every day
with your rays
the world light.
Flames burning,
Sun noon,
Midnight Sun,
Sun of the souls,
Sun devours me.
Poor bewitched flower,
my soul wanders
to your compass
Swivel.
Sunflower I was called..
